Please plan on attending our fair to help us put more books in the hands of our students at school and Forest Glen families at home, by connecting kids with books they want to read! All profit dollars earned from the book fair benefit Forest Glen by providing our students and teachers with opportunities to use those dollars to purchase books and build classroom libraries.

Importance of School Attendance!
If your child will be absent due to an appointment, it is recommended that you attain an excuse from your provider for the date and time of the visit and return the excuse to the school office. This will ensure that the absence is noted as an excused absence or tardy. Appointment cards will NOT be accepted as an excuse.
You can now report your child's absence online on our school web page! Click here to report an absence! You can also call the school's attendance line at 662-7990.
Monitor your child’s tardies and absences through the district website: http://powerschool.hssd.k12.wi.us/public/
Click here for more information about the importance of attendance from the State Superintendent's office.

EMERGENCY CLOSINGS AND DELAYS
Inclement weather may necessitate the closing or delay of schools. If schools are closed this will also include the cancellation of extracurricular activities and the events in the community pool unless otherwise announced. Please listen to local radio or television stations for school closings or delays. Such weather may also deter students from going outside during the school day. Please be sure that students are dressed appropriately for the weather. In addition to local radio and television, weather conditions can be checked on-line at www.hssd.k12.wi.us.
The Howard-Suamico School District has added text messaging capability to SchoolMessenger, the system we now use for phone calls and emails. The system will be configured to send text messages to cell phone numbers in SchoolMessenger whose recipients have agreed to receive them.
Recipients can easily opt-in by simply sending the word “Yes” via text message to the number 68453. This option is available tp recipients throughout the school year.
Our primary use for text messaging will be to communicate weather-related delays and cancellations. We will continue to communicate weather-related delays and cancellations through social media, email, voice calls, district website, and the local news media.
