EMERGENCY CLOSINGS AND DELAYS
Inclement weather may necessitate the closing or delay of schools. If schools are closed this will also include the cancellation of extracurricular activities and the events in the community pool unless otherwise announced. Please listen to local radio or television stations for school closings or delays. Such weather may also deter students from going outside during the school day. Please be sure that students are dressed appropriately for the weather. In addition to local radio and television, weather conditions can be checked on-line at www.hssd.k12.wi.us.
The Howard-Suamico School District has added text messaging capability to SchoolMessenger, the system used for phone calls and emails. To begin receiving texts, opt-in by simply sending the word “Yes” via text message to the number 68453. You can opt in at any time during the year.
Our primary use for text messaging will be to communicate weather-related delays and cancellations. We will continue to communicate weather-related delays and cancellations through social media, email, voice calls, district website, and the local news media.
