Importance of School Attendance!

If your child will be absent due to an appointment, it is recommended that you attain an excuse from your provider for the date and time of the visit and return the excuse to the school office. This will ensure that the absence is noted as an excused absence or tardy. Appointment cards will NOT be accepted as an excuse.

Call to report your child's daily absence by calling the school's attendance line at 662-7990.

NEW!!  Report your child's absence online here:

Monitor your child’s tardies and absences through the district website: http://powerschool.hssd.k12.wi.us/public/

Soon we will be developing class lists for the 2018-2019 school year. Creating class lists is always a challenge as we try to make sure each student is placed appropriately and each classroom is balanced. We use the following variables to create classrooms that are optimal for learning:
  • Balancing the ability levels of students so there is a rich blend of strengths in every classroom
  • Placing children who see special teachers in a manner that will facilitate scheduling
  • Separating children who have demonstrated conflicts that interfere with their learning and/or the learning of others
  • Equalizing class sizes
  • Creating a relative balance of boys and girls
  • Reflecting on the learning styles of students and teachers
As district elementary schools, we ask that you do not request a specific teacher. If you feel your child has a special need, you can share this information by completing and submitting the Student Placement Consideration Form. If a hard copy is needed please call 662-7958 and we will send one home with your child. Your child will be placed by a committed team of educators who make sure that each classroom is created for ALL of the students. Special student consideration requests are due in the school office no later than Friday, April 27

Thank you,
Mrs. Sorenson and the HSSD Elementary Principals

A parent wanting special consideration for placing an incoming 5th grade student should fill out the Parent Input Form. This form will be available on the Lineville webpage and Lineville school newsletter from April 15 to April 30.
http://linvillenewsletter.weebly.com/  Requests for a specific house or to keep friends together cannot be honored.

Menu Information Regarding Serving Sizes

Please note that portion sizes posted on NutriSlice may not always accurately reflect our planned portion size for the fruits and vegetables. The linked production copy shows our planned portion size. Note that with the strawberries on April 5, NutriSlice shows 1 cup portion, but our planned portion is 1/4 cup.  If the student takes 1 scoop of berries, nutritional value would then be based on ¼ cup, not 1 cup.

Please refer to portion sizes identified on the attached menu when reviewing nutritional value of our menu items until we can correct what’s posted to align with our planned serving size.  Feel free to contact me with any questions/concerns.

Thank you,
