School HighlightsFirst Quarter Benchmark Reports Available Today at 6:00pm!
Final quarterly benchmark scores will be available Friday, November 17 in Powerschool at 6:00pm! If you have questions regarding your child's score, please contact your child's teacher. If you have any concerns regarding your child's attendance, feel free to contact the school office at 662-7958. Absences and tardies are recorded as follows: If a child misses over 20 minutes but less than 2 hours of school, it is recorded as tardy and is considered a partial day absence. Time missed less than 20 minutes is considered a tardy but not counted towards a partial day absence.Time missed beyond 2 hours will be recorded as an absence. Absences for a partial or full day beyond 10 days without a written excuse from a health care professional are marked truant. All Physical Education classes will be participating in the Tumbling and Gymnastics units during the the month of December. This is always a fun and exciting unit for students! SAFETY is a primary concern in this unit and students are expected to follow all class rules. Students who are not able to follow the class expectations may not be able to participate in activities, so please discuss the importance of great behavior with your child. Recommended dress for this unit include socks, pants, long-sleeve shirts. Large/sharp hair pieces or jewelry are not allowed. Be sure to ask your child about Physical Education class and feel free to call if you have any questions or concerns regarding this unit at 662-7923. The holidays are quickly approaching! You are invited to donate books to the annual Give-A-Kid-A-Book campaign. We will be collecting new books for children in our community. Bring your donations (new unwrapped hardcover or paperback books for babies, children, or young adults up to age 18) to school. There will be a collection box outside the office through December 8. Fall School Board Connection
The Community Task Force has completed its work and presented the Board of Education with a recommendation to help drive our district forward. Through their work, the Task Force gained insight into our district’s current budgeting process and past financial decisions. To learn more about our District and our mission to move forward, please join us at a Fall School Board Connection on November 30th at 6:00 p.m. in the District Office Community Training Center, 2706 Lineville Road. This exciting event will showcase our students in the culinary arts program as well as our award winning Bay Port orchestra string quartet. The Speak Up Research Project polls K-12 students, parents and educators about the role of technology for learning in and out of school and represents the largest collection of authentic, unfiltered stakeholder voice on digital learning. It is important that the Howard - Suamico School District students, parents, staff and community participate to assist our district in acquiring information for future planning needs.
