Importance of School Attendance! If your child will be absent due to an appointment, it is recommended that you attain an excuse from your provider for the date and time of the visit and return the excuse to the school office. This will ensure that the absence is noted as an excused absence or tardy. Appointment cards will NOT be accepted as an excuse.
Call to report your child's daily absence by calling the school's attendance line at 662-7990. Monitor your child’s tardies and absences through the district website: http://powerschool.hssd.k12.wi.us/public/ Click here for more information about the importance of attendance from the State Superintendent's office. 2017-2018 HSSD Calendar

Picture Retake Day Wednesday, November 1! Forgot to order your pictures? Call Harmann's at 800-236-8910 ext.3 November is National Homeless Awareness Month.
The number of homeless children in the Howard-Suamico School District is on the rise as well as the numbers across the state. Michelle Dahlke, HSSD Homeless Coordinator and The Giving Tree, are doing a fundraiser by selling t-shirts for all staff, students, and families to purchase and wear every Wednesday in November. All proceeds from the t-shirts will go directly to helping all the homeless kids we have identified in the Howard-Suamico School District, which has doubled from last school year. Our goal is to make sure all the kids identified as homeless will not have any barriers to learning/extracurricular activities, so supplying them with clothes, school supplies, food, hygiene items, athletic fees, etc. is very important. The link to purchase shirts is: http://howardsuamic470.corecommerce.com/. Thank you for your support in helping our own students. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Michelle Dahlke at 920-662-7260 or [email protected]. Each year, the Golden Apple Awards program improves community awareness of the quality of education in the Greater Green Bay area by recognizing high standards of professionalism, leadership and innovation in teaching with the Golden Apple Awards. Seven recipients (individuals and/or teams) are selected annually through a multi-level screening of anonymous applications and personal interviews. Selection criteria are based on the National Board of Professional Teaching standards, which identify the essential knowledge, skills and dispositions expected of experienced, quality teachers.
