Last Chance for the Book Fair! The final date for the annual fall book fair is: Tuesday, October 24 3:30 - 8:00 p.m. Please plan on attending and help us put more books in the hands of our students at school and Forest Glen families at home, by connecting kids with books they want to read! All profit dollars earned from the book fair benefit Forest Glen by providing our students and teachers with opportunities to use those dollars to purchase books and build classroom libraries! In recognition of all the hard work the students at Forest Glen have demonstrated during the 1st quarter of school we would like to celebrate with a costume day!
On October 31 students and staff will be allowed to wear a costume in school for the day. This is a voluntary activity and students do NOT have to participate by wearing a costume. All costumes must be appropriate for school. Students should plan on wearing their costume to school for the day as we will not be allowing children to put on their costume at arrival. Please follow the guidelines below if you choose to allow your child to dress up. Costume Guidelines No make-up No masks No scary costumes No weapons (swords, knives, guns, etc) No props (wands, microphones, etc) No clown costumes Please be sure to check if your child has gym class. Importance of School Attendance! If your child will be absent due to an appointment, it is recommended that you attain an excuse from your provider for the date and time of the visit and return the excuse to the school office. This will ensure that the absence is noted as an excused absence or tardy. Appointment cards will NOT be accepted as an excuse.
Call to report your child's daily absence by calling the school's attendance line at 662-7990. Monitor your child’s tardies and absences through the district website: http://powerschool.hssd.k12.wi.us/public/ Click here for more information about the importance of attendance from the State Superintendent's office. 2017-2018 HSSD Calendar

School Highlights ContinuedNovember is National Homeless Awareness Month.
The number of homeless children in the Howard-Suamico School District is on the rise as well as the numbers across the state. Michelle Dahlke, HSSD Homeless Coordinator and The Giving Tree, are doing a fundraiser by selling t-shirts for all staff, students, and families to purchase and wear every Wednesday in November. All proceeds from the t-shirts will go directly to helping all the homeless kids we have identified in the Howard-Suamico School District, which has doubled from last school year. Our goal is to make sure all the kids identified as homeless will not have any barriers to learning/extracurricular activities, so supplying them with clothes, school supplies, food, hygiene items, athletic fees, etc. is very important. The link to purchase shirts is: http://howardsuamic470.corecommerce.com/. Thank you for your support in helping our own students. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Michelle Dahlke at 920-662-7260 or [email protected].
