School Highlights ContinuedPicture Retake Day Wednesday, November 1! Coffee with the Superintendent, Damian LaCroix
Friday, October 13 7:00am-8:00am Townline Restaurant Meet the Superintendent and engage in a community conversation. Next Meeting date: November 17 If you have any questions, contact the Howard-Suamico School District Office at 662-7709. November is National Homeless Awareness Month.
The number of homeless children in the Howard-Suamico School District is on the rise as well as the numbers across the state. Michelle Dahlke, HSSD Homeless Coordinator and The Giving Tree, are doing a fundraiser by selling t-shirts for all staff, students, and families to purchase and wear every Wednesday in November. All proceeds from the t-shirts will go directly to helping all the homeless kids we have identified in the Howard-Suamico School District, which has doubled from last school year. Our goal is to make sure all the kids identified as homeless will not have any barriers to learning/extracurricular activities, so supplying them with clothes, school supplies, food, hygiene items, athletic fees, etc. is very important. The link to purchase shirts is: http://howardsuamic470.corecommerce.com/. Thank you for your support in helping our own students. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Michelle Dahlke at 920-662-7260 or [email protected]. Each year, the Golden Apple Awards program improves community awareness of the quality of education in the Greater Green Bay area by recognizing high standards of professionalism, leadership and innovation in teaching with the Golden Apple Awards. Seven recipients (individuals and/or teams) are selected annually through a multi-level screening of anonymous applications and personal interviews. Selection criteria are based on the National Board of Professional Teaching standards, which identify the essential knowledge, skills and dispositions expected of experienced, quality teachers.
